Mrauk u, Rakhine State, Burma 2013 It's the final day of the Prilaung Long River Festival as a flotilla of small boats surround the race course and the shore is lined with hundreds of excited spectators. As the afternoon wears on, the grand finals take place and the celebrations reach a climax.

The bottom lip on one of the players gives the game away. I’m sure his facial expression was the same 60 years earlier when his mother refused him chocolate.
